"Best Friends Always." - Love you guys! |

I was keen on the Marketing & Communication position. Wanted to experience working in the marketing department instead of the usual Hospitality industry. I was slightly late for the interview. Had to fill up some form which i kind of "anyhow" fill up. haha!!
Had a chat with Serena, HR manager. She was very friendly. Told me the job scope etc... One of the compulsory task is to read the newspaper everyday for at least 2 hrs to extract information on certain things. I actually though it was beneficial to me as i will be FORCE to read the newspaper and hence expand my knowledge esp about the Hospitality industry. Next, i went to a computer room to take a personality test. The test had countless of questions and i had to take 45mins to complete the entire test. After which i went home. Few days later, I got a call from Serena saying that i was selected for the position. She mentioned that thru the personality test, I was the right candidate for the job. =) However, becos i had to wait for the Maldives outcome, I had to reject the offer. It was super super tough deciding Maldives or Marketing. One offers a once in a life-time experience while the other offers a more practical and useful experience. 3 days later, the HR director from Fairmont pass me a msg thru Joyce. They wanted to inform me that they decided to keep the position open for me til i know the outcome of the Maldives interview. WoW!! (I never knew they will be that nice la!) It really gave me more self-confidence. The feeling of being valued is AWESOME! I think everyone should have this kind of feeling some time in their life. =) From that day onwards, i had even more trouble deciding between Maldives and Fairmont. |
